Tonight I will be staying awake. I have much to do.
This morning I met with a woman who is going to help me find a graduate school in the UK.

Tomorrow we will elect a new president.
I am just tired.
Let's Get Lost
I've been outside
Invited in
But I couldn't abide
Wouldn't miss it again
Burning every bridge that I cross
To find some beautiful place to get lost
I had true love
I made it die
I pushed her away
She said please stay
Burning every bridge that I cross
To find some beautiful place to get lost
To find some beautiful place to get lost
Well I don't know where I'll go now
And I don't really care who follows me there
But I'll burn every bridge that I cross
And find some beautiful place to get lost
And find some beautiful place to get lost
Elliott Smith
He died you know. He died of an overdose. I've heard he was incredibly sad and one has only to listen to his lyrics to hear it... It's right there.
This election has been about life and death, heaven and hell, hope and tragedy. This election has been about freedom and consequences. It has been about the truth and lies we want to believe. I have found myself questioning many, many things. The least of which is the concept that all sinners go to hell if they are not redeemed.
I don't know what to believe about many things.
I only know that I hope God, a good loving God, would see a man like Elliott Smith and be gracious enough to... understand maybe? I don't know if that's the right word for it... But just listen to his words. Oh if God could listen to his words I can't imagine His eyes would be dry or His heart would be merciless. How could someone hate a person who simply doesn't know how to be alive, who's only real sin is misfortune?
I believe in a God who is more loving than that.
And I hope we find ourselves in His mercy.
No matter who we elect. God isn't a Republican. God isn't a Democrat. And... I suspect he would also disagree with Ralph Nader.
Oh I just want to find a beautiful place to get lost too Elliott. I hope you already have. I really do.
