Mad Rush

Have you ever listened to Philip Glass' Mad Rush...?... Every time I do I think I can feel history beating away along with the melody of the song. It's tumultuous and beautiful.

I have no idea where to go with that line of thought, except to say that as I am writing this I am listening to Philp Glass.... and I am getting more pensive, melancholy and reflective by the second. It's glorious music for pondering life.

Today I wore one of the shirt-waist dresses I bought yesterday. It was made in 1956 by a company named Ganz.
I think it's the most fun I've had wearing a dress for a long time. AND it has POCKETS!!! I LOVE the concept of a dress with pockets. It sort of evokes the image of Ethel from I Love Lucy. I remember her prancing through the Ricardo's door with her hands in the pockets of her dress many a time. Matter of fact she wore dresses like this all the time... It also reminds me of the dress Audrey Hepburn wore at the beginning of Sabrina.... before David Larabee thought she was "the moon..."

Personally I always thought Sabrina was lovely before she left for Paris and that David was just a moron. However, I suppose that was the moral of the story... love over money.... authenticity and beauty over materialism and status. In any case Ethel and Sabrina both wore dresses with pockets and that alone is something to admire.
