I got stuck in the Philadelphia International Airport from 11 pm to around 8 am on November 25th. Then, I flew to Chicago. I barely made it. I think it was the autobiography of none other than Alan Greenspan that really pulled me through, along with prayer.

Then, I feel asleep in Minnesota. And it was wonderful.

I decorated the tree, and ate like a queen.

My mother is such a warm and transparent soul. She hides nothing. And I adore who she is.

While home, I watched the MTV interview with Britney Spears. I was startled by how much I could relate to her and how very sad she really did seem. It's not an act, at least it doesn't seem to be. She seems sincerely distraught. She has a long road ahead of her. However, she has already made it this far, so hopefully that's a good sign.

I've never been a huge fan of Britney's but, after the interview I found myself wondering what will become of her. And is it just me or has her music gotten better than ever lately? I feel like she's going to be a success story more than once... And hopefully the future will bring her closer to all that is best.

On a very random note... I still think about my wonderful friend Laura's invitation to see Frank McCourt a couple of weeks ago. That was a lovely evening. What a remarkable human being. He ended his speech that night by saying, "...I hope I've been useful..." or something like that... Yes, well.... More than useful. I have a fond respect for him and I'm sure a lot of people do. I also have a fondness for my dear Laura. ;) And I hope she had a good Thanksgiving too.
